Cadet Programs: Activity Officer Pullman
This is a volunteer position in a national 501(c)3 civilian community service organization. There is no pay/salary for this position. ***The Cadet Programs Activities Officer: * A key figure in our youth leadership program. * Arranges, coordinates, and conducts special cadet activities. This may include: relevant field trips (perhaps coordinating with other squadrons), milestone promotion ceremonies, squadron participation in local fairs/expos, trips to Wing training activities, opportunities for squadron color guard services/performances, the squadron banquet, and other similar special activities. * As special assistant to the squadron commander, implements coordinating support for cadet activities as needed. ***Benefits of Civil Air Patrol: * Join a group of Professional Volunteers who take pride in their service by always seeking excellence, not perfection. * Receive on the job training in your specialty area(s). * Be mentored by someone experienced in the program, and then become a mentor to newer members. This is a team environment. * Have the opportunity to explore new areas of interest and skill in a supportive environment. * Give back to your community, state, and nation by supporting local youth leadership, a wide array of emergency services, and promoting aerospace education. * You can do so much good in only 6 hours a month. ***A qualified candidate must: * Become a senior member in Civil Air Patrol. (www.gocivilairpatrol.com) * Complete Civil Air Patrol's Training Leaders of Cadets course within 6 months. * While not required, some form of military experience is a plus. * Be comfortable with the basic office suite of computer applications. * Have a clean driving record and obtain a CAP driver's certification. * Work cohesively in a team environment. * Be able to attend at least 2 meetings per month. ***NOT Required: * Pilot - A majority of roles in Civil Air Patrol do not require a pilot's license. * Flying - A majority of roles in Civil Air Patrol do not require one to fly; and there are opportunities to train as a non-pilot flight crew member if desired. ---Our squadron meets weekly on Monday evenings 6:45pm-9:00pm.
